Osan City Accepting Annual Vehicle Tax Prepayment Applications

Osan City is accepting "annual prepayment applications" that provide a 10% discount on the annual vehicle tax amount if residents prepay their 2012 vehicle taxes in January.

Annual vehicle tax prepayment is a system in which, instead of paying vehicle taxes in two installments annually (June and December) on a postpaid basis for the vehicle operating period, residents can prepay the full year's amount by January 31st and receive a 10% tax credit benefit.

Annual prepayment applications can be submitted by calling (370-3182) or visiting the City Hall Tax Division, or by applying through the internet portal We-Tax (www.wetax.go.kr) and paying immediately thereafter.

Once an annual prepayment application is submitted, residents can check the billing details and make payments through CD/ATM machines at any bank nationwide without a bill notice, using their bankbook or credit card. Payments can also be made via credit card or mobile phone by calling Osan City's Local Tax ARS at 1588-6074.

Those who prepaid through annual prepayment last year will receive an annual prepayment notice along with new applicants without separate application. If payment is not made by the deadline of the 31st, the billing is automatically canceled and residents can pay according to the existing schedule in June and December.
