Osan Opens Korea's First School Complex Facility

The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 400 people, including Osan City Mayor Gwak Sang-wook, National Assemblyman An Min-seok, Gyeonggi Province Superintendent of Education Kim Sang-gon, Hwaseong-Osan Office of Education Director Song Moon-yong, provincial and city councilors, and parents.
Mayor Gwak, who attended the opening ceremony, said in his remarks, "I hope that through this opening ceremony, the Mulhyanggi Culture and Sports Center will become a facility that brings happiness to the three stakeholders of the educational community—parents, teachers, and students."
The Mulhyanggi Culture and Sports Center was built as a complex educational and cultural space, equipped with not only student education but also a kindergarten and cultural and sports facilities for young children and local residents.
Meanwhile, the Mulhyanggi Culture and Sports Center, Korea's first school complex facility built with funding from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Osan City, and Gyeonggi Province Office of Education, is a two-story structure consisting of an attached kindergarten with three classes, a counseling room, a performance hall, health/GX rooms, a gymnasium, a multipurpose hall, and cultural classrooms.
Operations will be entrusted to the YMCA, and 16 programs with 40 courses are scheduled to begin operation from March 2nd.
