'2012 Osan One Grain Sharing Festival' Held
Osan City announced on the 23rd that the One Grain Sharing Festival, one of the region's representative volunteer festivals, was held on the 22nd at 12:00 p.m. at the Osan Civic Center.
The One Grain Sharing Festival by Action Against Hunger is a festival where dreams and hopes are shared with hungry friends around the world, featuring experiential events where domestic youth directly decorate sneakers, notebooks, and other items to understand the realities of poor neighbors in the world.
The festival was organized by the Osan Regional Chapter of Action Against Hunger and the Korean International Action Against Hunger Organization, with approximately 800 participants including Osan Mayor Kwak Sang-uk, officials from the Osan Regional Chapter and Fundraising Division of Action Against Hunger, middle and high school students, and volunteers.
Kim Seong-yeol, chairman of the Osan Regional Chapter of Action Against Hunger (Osan Yangmun Church), said, "The One Grain Sharing Festival aims to improve awareness among South Korean youth and foster talented individuals who practice sharing through education and volunteer service."
The One Grain Sharing Festival is a major volunteer festival for middle and high school students aimed at contributing to the promotion of survival, participation, protection, and development rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, while fostering future talents who lead improved awareness and practice of sharing among South Korean youth.
