Osan City Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters Conducts Heavy Snow Response Training

The training was conducted by assuming an extreme heavy snowfall situation during winter and implementing on-site traffic management training to develop rapid response capabilities when actual situations occur and minimize inconvenience to citizens.
Under the direction of the Osan City Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, the training was conducted jointly with related agencies including the Construction and Road Division, Traffic Division, Health Center, Army 2819 Unit 3rd Battalion, Hwaseong East Police Station, Osan Fire Station, and civic organizations to verify the promptness and appropriateness of traffic solutions when extreme heavy snow situations occur.
The training assumed a vehicle accident scenario on the Osan Stream roadside due to sudden heavy snowfall, mobilizing 3 snow removal vehicles, 3 snow removal machines, 1 spreader, and 60 personnel to conduct direct simulation training on-site regarding task assignments and measures by relevant departments and related agencies according to their collaborative functions in response to the situation.
An official from the Osan City Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters overseeing the training stated, “Due to recent global climate anomalies, the possibility of sudden heavy snow during winter is higher than ever,” and added, “Through thorough disaster preparedness training in ordinary times, we will do our best to minimize damage to citizens when actual heavy snow disasters occur during winter.”
