Restaurant in Osan Shares 'Meal of Love' with Neighbors

The Meal of Love lunch was sufficient to make this winter warm, bringing together over 40 elderly residents from the district who live alone or have difficulty moving about, skipping meals or eating poorly, to share heartfelt affection.

On the 10th, Cheonggiwa Gamjatang (Potato Soup House), located in Gwol-dong, Osan, Gyeonggi Province (representative Yoon Young-hwa), served lunch to approximately 40 elderly residents in the area, practicing warm sharing with the local community.

Park Yong-gyu, head of Namchon-dong who attended the event, said, "Despite the cold weather, I sincerely offer my thanks for the warmth and concern shown to our elders in the district," and added, "I hope that all members of the community will show more interest in the underprivileged neighbors around us."

Yoon Young-hwa, representative of Cheonggiwa Gamjatang, said, "During the cold winter season, I wanted to serve a warm meal to elderly residents who feel isolated and lonely in the community with the heart of thinking of my own parents," and added, "Going forward, I will respect elders and continue to provide meals to low-income families and elderly people every month as a way of giving back the love of the community."

The City of Osan plans to continue connecting support for underprivileged neighbors and work toward building a warmer community.
