Enjoy Exciting Ice Sledding at Serang-dong Reservoir!

An ice sledding rink offering play and experience activities has opened in Serang-dong, Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, allowing families to fully enjoy the winter season.
Osan City (Mayor Kwak Sang-wook) announced on the 13th that as part of the 'Cultural Village Development' project aimed at creating jobs and implementing community cooperation in depressed rural settlements, it will open an ice sledding rink at the Serang-dong Reservoir from the 21st through February 16 of next year for family visitors to enjoy.
At the Serang-dong Cultural Village Ice Sledding Rink, visitors can experience ice sledding, traditional games such as spinning tops and kite flying, and convenient facilities including restrooms, parking, and rest areas are also provided.
Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ice sledding costs 2,000 won, spinning tops are free, and kite flying requires separate purchase on-site. Parking is free of charge.
An official from the Serang-dong Cultural Village said, "We hope families will enjoy a healthy and harmonious winter through exciting ice sledding and traditional game experiences," urging increased use of the ice sledding rink.
Meanwhile, Serang-dong, a natural settlement maintaining traditional village characteristics, has seen relatively underdeveloped infrastructure and cultural facilities compared to urban areas, leading village residents to take the initiative in forming community organizations and implementing the cultural village development project.
Through the cultural village development project, the community is contributing to improving residents' quality of life and revitalizing local communities by creating jobs through regional specialty product sales, improving farm household income, enhancing village landscapes such as creating flower paths on reservoir embankments, and developing leisure culture through sledding rinks and fishing experience facilities.
