Osan City Volunteer Center Holds Regular General Meeting

Osan City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Gwak Sang-wook) held a regular general meeting of the Osan City Volunteer Center at the first-floor conference room of the volunteer center on the 13th.
The regular general meeting was attended by approximately 50 participants including executives and members, with Mayor Gwak Sang-wook, who also serves as chairman of the Osan City Volunteer Center, presiding. The meeting began with a membership report, followed by the reading of the previous meeting minutes, a report on last year's project achievements and financial settlement, and then approved this year's project implementation plans and budget.
During his opening remarks, Mayor Gwak Sang-wook said, "I extend my gratitude to all the volunteers who worked diligently in service to our neighbors over the past year," and added, "Our society is beautiful because there are people like you who silently serve others with body and heart in places unseen." He offered words of encouragement to the volunteers.
The Osan City Volunteer Center saw 1,207 volunteers participate in various community events last year, including the Doksan Fortress Cultural Festival, Beauty Healing Festival, Lunar New Year celebration, and Multicultural Harmony Festival. A total of 13,283 volunteers engaged in various volunteer activities both within and outside the city, including volunteer work at Sorok Island.
Following the conclusion of the volunteer center's regular general meeting, a hall of fame unveiling ceremony was held to honor five volunteers with cumulative service hours exceeding 5,000 hours on the '1365 Volunteer Portal' operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and 378 exemplary volunteers with more than 100 hours of volunteer service in 2013. The event provided an opportunity to enhance pride and confidence among the volunteers.
