Osan City Holds Resident Briefing on Cadastral Resurvey Project

The project briefing was held to ensure smooth project implementation through landowner participation at a time when the cadastral resurvey project, which is directly linked to landowners' property rights, is being promoted with landowner consent for district designation and other matters.
The resident briefings were conducted on the 11th at Sungsan Municipal Senior Community Center targeting landowners in the Namchon project district (around 529-1, Osan-dong), and on the 12th at Jigot-dong Community Center targeting landowners in the Jigot project district (around 1, Jigot-dong).
At the briefings, Osan City's Cadastral Team officials explained matters including 'background and necessity of the cadastral resurvey project implementation,' 'contents of project district implementation plans,' and 'collection of landowner consent documents and formation of councils,' requesting cooperation.
A city official stated, "The cadastral resurvey project was planned to resolve the problem of non-matching land parcels where cadastral map boundaries and actual conditions do not align, which arises from continued use of outdated paper cadastres created over 100 years ago using obsolete technology," and requested cooperation from landowners in the project district for successful digital cadastre establishment through the cadastral resurvey project.
The cadastral resurvey project requires the consent of two-thirds or more of landowners in a project district for implementation, and even after project completion, councils among landowners and boundary determination committees must be formed so that land boundary adjustments are decided through consultation when necessary. Thus, it is a project requiring consensus and cooperation from landowners in the project district.
Meanwhile, Osan City was recognized as an excellent institution in the comprehensive cadastral administration evaluation conducted last year for cadastral resurvey advancement and implementation of resident-satisfactory cadastral administration, as well as in the cadastral resurvey project promotion evaluation overseen by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and received a commendation award.
