Osan Dreamstart Center Implements Parent Education Program

The Dreamstart Center in Osan City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kwak Sang-wook) announced that it held a parent education program for Dreamstart parents on the 18th at the Osan Youth Counseling and Welfare Center's classroom.

The Dreamstart parent education program operates with diverse topics at least once per month, and this parent education session was the first to be held this year.

The education program is part of the prospective elementary school student program and is conducted for parents of prospective elementary school students and lower-grade children. It will be held twice on the 18th and the 25th.

The emotional coaching parent education program consists of the effects of emotional coaching, methods for conversing with children, and emotional coaching techniques by stage. It is designed to help prospective elementary school children adapt well to unfamiliar environments.

Accordingly, the program was designed with the aim of helping parents build intimate bonds with their children and manage emotions appropriately so that children can solve problems independently.

An official from the Dreamstart Center stated, "This education program was prepared to provide timely, customized parent education when prospective elementary school students feel confusion in new and unfamiliar environments, thereby helping parents understand their role in enabling effective communication with their children and helping them manage and express their emotions." The official added, "We expect that through this education, children will adapt well to school and maintain good peer relationships."
