The "2026 Republic of Korea Joayong Festival" commemorating the 30th anniversary of Yongin's designation as a special city was held for two days on the 3rd and 4th at Yongin Mir Stadium, drawing approximately 60,000 citizens.

This year's festival brought together 42 character types from 30 domestic and international organizations. Character parades and dance performances, character experience programs followed, and sports celebrity fan signing events featuring Lee Dong-guk, Yongin FC technical director, and athletes Seok Hyun-jun, high jumper Woo Sang-hyuk, and Taekwondo Team athlete Jung Ha-eun from the city's professional sports club received enthusiastic response. Family-oriented programs including classic car exhibitions and LEGO block play spaces were also prepared.

During the event period, connected events such as the Cyber Science Festival, Youth Festival, Food Festival, Lifelong Learning Exhibition, Food Industry Exhibition, and Joayong Food Festival were held, adding to the festive atmosphere. The 26th Cyber Science Festival also concluded successfully during this period.

Yongin Mayor Lee Sang-il said, "I will do my best to achieve greater leaps forward for Yongin together with citizens and develop into a metropolitan city of 1.5 million people."
