Yongin Begins Rabies Vaccination Program for Dogs Starting June 6

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on June 5 that it will conduct rabies vaccinations for approximately 5,000 pet dogs aged 3 months and older from June 6 through November 8.
The vaccination program will be conducted in two ways: mobile vaccination services where municipal veterinarians visit designated areas, and direct visits to designated animal hospitals for rabies prevention injections.
Mobile vaccination services will focus on areas with high risk of contact with wildlife and regions where access to animal hospitals is difficult.
Three municipal veterinarians will visit according to schedule and administer rabies prevention injections free of charge.
For those seeking vaccination at an animal hospital, pet owners can visit one of 88 designated animal hospitals in the city during the vaccination period.
The cost per dog is 10,000 won, to be paid by the guardian.
However, dogs must be registered as pets in accordance with the Animal Protection Act to receive assistance.
The schedule for mobile vaccinations and a list of designated animal hospitals offering in-hospital vaccinations can be found on the city website (yongin.go.kr) under notices and announcements.
A city official stated, "To prevent rabies, we plan to actively guide pet owners in densely populated areas as well as areas where contact with wildlife is possible to ensure their dogs receive vaccinations. We ask for the cooperation and participation of residents."
