KT Wiz Surpasses 1 Million Spectators in Regular Season Championship…Yeom Tae-young: "A Historic Day"

KT Wiz achieved 1 million home spectators in a single season for the first time on the 5th, 13 years after the team's founding and 12 years after its entry into the first division.
On that day, a home game against Lotte Giants in the '2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League' was held at KT Wiz Park in Jangan-gu, Suwon. KT Wiz dominated the game 9-0, clinching the 2026 regular season championship and setting a record of achieving 1 million home spectators.
The cheers of spectators echoed up to 2 kilometers around KT Wiz Park, where the game against Lotte Giants was held. This contributed to all 18,700 seats selling out. The sellout was the 28th of the season.
When the scoreboard announced a cumulative attendance of 1,004,272, the crowd erupted in cheers.

The cumulative attendance, which was 843,942 in the 2024 season, increased to approximately 15% with 970,941 last season, but this is the first time it has reached 1 million.
National Assembly member Yeom Tae-young (Democratic Party; Suwon District), who served as Suwon mayor in 2013 and led the founding of Suwon-based KT Wiz, said through his Facebook account on that day: "KT Wiz is playing its 140th game this year," adding "In particular, today is a historic day surpassing 1 million home spectators, and as the former mayor who brought the KT Wiz team to Suwon, I am very proud."
