Uiwang City (Mayor Kim Sung-je) held a proclamation ceremony for 'Uiwang Vision 2030' at the 38th Citizens' Day Commemoration ceremony in the City Hall conference room on the 6th.

In particular, the vision announcement was presented by Mayor Kim personally announcing seven core strategies and 78 pledge projects to be pursued over the four years of the 9th elected term.

With the slogan 'United Uiwang, Greater Future!' Mayor Kim presented seven core strategies: ▲Livable Eco-Friendly Premium City ▲Sustainable Advanced Self-Sufficient City ▲Transportation Hub City Accessible Everywhere ▲Future Education City Cultivating Dreams ▲Youth Vitality City Growing Together ▲Culture, Sports, and Welfare City Adding Happiness ▲Safe and Healthy City Where Citizens Can Feel Assured.

Based on these, the city plans to smoothly promote projects in urban development, transportation, education, and employment to enhance citizens' quality of life and urban competitiveness, with the goal of realizing 'Uiwang, the most livable premium city in the nation' by 2030.

First, Uiwang City will concentrate on urban growth and strengthening self-sufficient functions. The city will smoothly promote major urban development projects including Woram and Cheonggyeol 2 districts, the third new town, and Ojeon and Wanggok public housing districts, while establishing a foundation for attracting businesses and creating quality jobs through development of the Poil-dong advanced industrial complex and establishment of the Uiwang Industrial Promotion Agency.

The city is also accelerating the resolution of long-standing community issues. Plans include repositioning the Naesol-dong reserve forces training facility and developing the Korea Electric Power Corporation relocation site to expand resident convenience facilities and improve living environments.

The city is also actively promoting expansion of metropolitan transportation networks to emerge as a key transit hub. It will smoothly promote major railway projects including the Indeokwon-Dongtan Line and Wolgot-Pangyo Line, and GTX-C stops at Uiwang Station, while continuing to advocate for the Wiryeong-Gwacheon Line and Shinbundang Line extension projects to be reflected in the national railway network plan to enhance accessibility to Seoul and major regions and strengthen urban competitiveness.

The city will also expand living infrastructure to create a city where all generations from children to the elderly can live well. It will strengthen the foundation for future education centered on the Uiwang Future Education Center and promote the establishment of an independent Uiwang Education Office, while creating a favorable education and childcare environment for raising children through expanded birth incentive payments and increased childcare facilities.

Support for youth independence and regional settlement will also be strengthened. The city will establish a new Bugok Center of the Youth Development Hub and support job preparation expenses and housing costs for low-income youth to create a foundation for young people to cultivate their dreams in Uiwang and settle stably.

In the fields of culture and welfare, the city will promote the opening of Uiwang Arts Center, construction of the Gocheon complex government building, and creation of Baekun Lake musical fountains to expand spaces where citizens can enjoy culture and leisure nearby.

Medical and welfare services for citizens' health and safety will also be significantly strengthened. The city plans to actively support the opening of Uiwang General Hospital and enhance citizens' access to medical care and health management services through establishment of the Bugok Health Substation, operation of the Dalbit Children's Hospital, and implementation of a herbal medicine primary physician program at senior citizen centers.

Additionally, at the proclamation ceremony on this day, a video depicting the future appearance of 'Uiwang, the most livable city in 2030' was screened. Subsequently, attendees held hand signs and shouted together 'United Uiwang, Greater Future!' demonstrating the determination of citizens and administration to unite their efforts in realizing the future vision.

Mayor Kim Sung-je of Uiwang City said, "The 'Uiwang Vision 2030' announced this time embodies in concrete projects the direction Uiwang will move forward and the promises we make to our citizens," adding "We will ensure that the major projects we have been promoting so far are completed, and we will steadily pursue new projects one by one to create a greater future for Uiwang together with 170,000 citizens."

Meanwhile, the city plans to carefully examine the feasibility and implementability of the 78 pledge projects presented on this day and gather opinions from the Citizens' Policy Group to finalize pledge projects for the 9th elected term by December.
