270 Participants Join Jungok Port Whiting Fishing Competition with 3 Million Won for Champion

Hwaseong Special Delegated City (Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun) successfully concluded the '8th Jungok Port Whiting Fishing Tournament' held around Jungok Port in Seosin-myeon on the 9th.

Participants enjoyed the fishing experience of catching whiting against the backdrop of an autumn-colored sea, and savored the beautiful natural environment and charm of marine tourism at Jungok Port.

In this tournament, the participant who caught the longest whiting was awarded first place prize money of 3 million won. Second and third place winners received 100 million won and 500,000 won respectively. Various prizes were also provided to award winners from 4th to 10th place.

In addition, diverse side events including award ceremonies, closing ceremonies, and prize drawings were held, heightening participants' satisfaction, and various prizes were provided not only to award winners but also to all participants at the venue, adding to the enjoyment of the event.

Kim Jo-hyang, Director of Agriculture, Marine Affairs, and Fisheries, stated, "We hope this tournament provided participants with the joy of fishing and an opportunity to savor the charm of Hwaseong's autumn seas," and added, "We anticipate that the Jungok Port Whiting Fishing Tournament will become a representative marine experience festival that widely promotes the charm of marine tourism in the region and is enjoyed by everyone."

The tournament, hosted by the Jungok-ri Fishing Village Association and organized by the Jungok-ri Fishing Village Experience and Leisure Village, attracted approximately 270 participants who registered through advance reservations.

The tournament was sponsored by Hwaseong Special Delegated City, Gyeonggi Marine Cooperatives, Gyeonggi Fishing Village Specialized Support Center, Hwaseong Yacht Co., Ltd., Jungok Port Aquatic Products Center, and Seohae-rang.
