Ansong Namsadang Baudegi Festival Celebrates with Citizens in Festive Street Parade

Ansong City will hold a street parade celebrating unity and mutual prosperity among citizens on the day before the Ansong Namsadang Baudegi Festival scheduled for the 1st.

The street parade serves as a prelude event marking the official launch of the Baudegi Festival, with various organizations including the traditional ritual of Gombangyi Turgi, civic clubs, community organizations, and traditional percussion groups participating to showcase performances full of festivity and excitement.

At 5:30 p.m. on the 1st, preparatory events featuring traditional Korean music and magic will take place. From 7 p.m. onward, a large-scale street parade will proceed along a 1 km stretch in the Ayang-dong area (from the old Saebyeok Market to Ansong Agricultural and Livestock Foodstuff Mart to Naehye Hall Plaza).

Notably, this year features the theme "Parade with Fairy Tales," with performances by the Namsadang traditional percussion group and the Dongmi Bicycle Music Band, as well as CIOFF performances from five countries including Egypt, Taiwan, and India, promising unique entertainment and artistic value.

The street march with direct citizen participation will blend diverse genres and attractions including wind ensemble performances, traditional wedding ceremonies, shovel percussion, Brazilian percussion, taekwondo, and cheerleading, raising expectations for the Baudegi Festival.

The city will implement traffic control in the parade area and plans to prioritize spectator safety through cooperation with police and fire departments.

Mayor Kim Bo-ra stated, "I hope the street parade with citizens will be a successful festival celebration and a meaningful starting point for Baudegi culture to flourish on the world stage," adding, "I hope many people will come out to the streets to experience Ansong's traditions and vitality in their daily lives."
