Hwaseong City Hosts Regional Basic Society Talk Concert 'Brilliant Conversation for All'

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) will host the "2026 Regional Basic Society Talk Concert 'Brilliant Conversation for All'" to explore the meaning of basic society together with citizens and discuss the "basics" necessary for daily life.
The talk concert, which embodies the meaning of "One Step Toward Developing Basic Society, Conversation for All," has been organized to share expert perspectives and citizen experiences and to examine the diverse policy demands felt by residents.
Jung Gyun-seung, member of the Presidential Committee on Basic Society, will lead discussions as moderator, with panel participation from Kim Jeong-hoon, also of the same committee, and Park Myung-hee, Jung Sang-hui, Jung Han-cheol, and Cho Seong-jin, members of the Hwaseong Basic Society Committee, to exchange diverse views with citizens.
The talk concert is open to all Hwaseong residents and will proceed with expert presentations on basic society concepts and policy cases, in-depth panel discussions, and citizen participation programs.
Notably, citizens participating in the event will mark their opinions with stickers on policy questions closely related to daily life—including ▲income ▲childcare ▲housing ▲transportation ▲education and culture ▲retirement—before entering, and experts will freely discuss opinions based on those voting results.
Additionally, following the discussion, there will be a time for citizens to directly propose needed policies and ideas.
The event will be held sequentially: ▲October 8 in Mansei District (Hwaseong City Family Center Mansei Hall) ▲October 16 in Hyohaeng District (Hwaseong Citizens College Step Lecture Room) ▲October 23 in Byeongjeom District (Hwasan-dong Administrative Welfare Center Conference Room) ▲October 29 in Dongtan District (Hwaseong Dongtan 2 Incubating Center Conference Hall), all starting at 2 p.m.
Through this event, Hwaseong Special City plans to comprehensively analyze expert opinions and citizen proposals to use them as foundational data for developing and concretizing future Hwaseong-tailored basic society policies.
Mayor Jung Myung-geun of Hwaseong Special City said, "Basic society is not a grandiose slogan but begins with considering what our society can do so that every citizen can enjoy a basic life in their daily lives," adding, "Based on citizen voices, we will carefully examine diverse demands and create Hwaseong-tailored basic society policies that residents can truly feel."
