Suwon City and LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) signed a 'Free Lease Agreement for Suwon City Together Care Center No. 7' on the 24th at the office of the Director of the Welfare and Women's Division at City Hall.
Under the agreement, LH will lease free of charge for 10 years to Suwon City the first-floor Type 1 neighborhood living facility space (159 square meters) of LH Multi-Child Purchase Lease Housing located in Songjuk-dong, Jang-an District. The city plans to develop the leased space as Together Care Center No. 7. The city will only bear the costs for building maintenance, management, and repairs.
Suwon City plans to announce a call for organizations to operate Together Care Center No. 7 in October, proceed with the selection process, and open in December.
The Together Care Center, one of the civil promises of the seventh elected administration, is a facility that provides childcare services to all elementary school children (ages 6-12) who need care after school ends. All elementary school students can use it regardless of parental income level, with priority given to lower-grade students, dual-income families, and children from multi-child households.
Meals and snacks are provided, and play and specialized programs are operated. Academic guidance is also provided. It operates Monday through Friday, from noon to 8 p.m. during the school term, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during school breaks.
The city aims to operate 20 Together Care Centers by 2022. It plans to open 7 facilities by the end of this year, 6 additional facilities in 2021, and 7 facilities in 2022.
'LH Multi-Child Purchase Lease Housing' is housing where households with two or more children, homeless household members who meet the national rental asset standards, can move in.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Seo Kyung-bo, Director of Welfare and Women's Division of Suwon City, Bang Myung-soo, Head of LH Housing Welfare Business Division, and others.
Director of Welfare and Women Seo Kyung-bo said, "The free lease agreement with LH will be a great help in expanding the Together Care Centers," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to create an environment where work and family life can coexist."
