Yongin City Introduces Air Quality Measurement Vehicle to Address Fine Dust and Odor
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Park No-hun] Yongin City announced on the 13th that it will introduce and operate an air quality measurement vehicle capable of real-time measurement of fine dust and odor.
The vehicle is equipped with fine dust measurement equipment identical to that operated by the city's air pollution monitoring stations, enabling fine dust measurement in areas such as Wonsam-myeon, Yangji-myeon, and Namsa-myeon in Cheoin-gu, where measurement stations are absent.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with composite odor measurement equipment and unmanned collection equipment, allowing real-time measurement and remote collection in areas surrounding asphalt concrete plants, food waste treatment facilities, and livestock farms where odor-related complaints frequently occur.
The city plans to conduct meticulous investigations in areas where fine dust measurement has been difficult and actively utilize the data for fine dust response measures including seasonal management systems.
Based on measurement results, the city will identify the time and concentration of odor emissions from relevant facilities, analyze causes, and implement improvements to address odor problems.
A city official stated, "We will explore various measures to effectively respond to fine dust and odor-emitting facilities and provide citizens with a pleasant air environment."
