[Suwon Ilbo=Kang Han-seo Reporter] Suwon City has selected Jung Ha-young, an official working at the Administrative Welfare Center in Gwonseon 2-dong, Gwonseon-gu, as the 'Kindness King' civil servant for the second quarter this year.
The city conducted an online vote from the 17th to the 21st of last month on the city's website for five candidates for the kindness civil servant award. A total of 683 citizens and public officials participated in the voting, and Jung Ha-young received 274 votes (40.1%), earning the title of Kindness King.
"Working at the civil petition counter, I feel a sense of fulfillment and receive positive energy from citizens," Jung Ha-young said, adding, "I will become a civil servant who thinks from the perspective of the petitioner."
Candidates for the kindness civil servant award are selected through the city's own screening of officials who have received 'Green Cards' from citizens and officials who have received praise on the city website's 'Praise' bulletin board. The 'Green Card' is a postcard where citizens can write commendations for kind civil servants.
Officials selected as Kindness King receive a commendation from the Suwon City Mayor at Suwon City's 'Monthly Meeting' (monthly assembly).
