[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Kang Han-seo] Suwon City held the third regular event of the ‘2019 Suwon Youth UP Cloud,’ which connects Suwon's companies and young people, on the 11th at the Grand Auditorium of Venture Valley 2 in the Suwon Industrial Complex.
The event, attended by about 100 Suwon youth, 14 small and medium-sized enterprises based in the city, and officials from the LINC+ project groups of Kyung Hee University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Ajou University, featured a youth lecture by Lee Sang-won, CEO of Isang Education, as well as briefings by youth-recruiting companies and on-site hiring.
In his lecture on the theme ‘A Society of Right Answers Where People Live as Prescribed, Changed by Enthusiasts,’ Lee Sang-won, CEO of Isang Education, emphasized, “It is important for young people who live by conforming to universal social frameworks to find their own interests and capabilities.”
He added, “You must identify your own interests and capabilities and be able to connect them to a career,” and “We will continue to support the lives of young people who steadfastly live through this era.”
Following the youth lecture, on-site hiring interviews were held. Announcer Choi Hyun-jin provided recruitment information for 14 well-known strong and small and medium-sized enterprises based in Suwon City, and young people interested in those companies received recruitment consultations or interviews at booths set up on site.
Side events included ‘Image Making,’ which helped with interview makeup and more, and an ‘Employment Clinic,’ which provided consulting on cover letters and resumes.
In addition, various programs were held, including an event introducing corporate support programs provided by Ajou University's LINC+ project group and ‘Business Networking Between Youth and Companies’ on the theme ‘Companies Where Young People Want to Work, and What Companies Expect from Workers.’
Meanwhile, the event was jointly hosted by Suwon City, the Suwon City Labor-Management-Citizen-Government Council, the Suwon City Youth Support Center, the LINC+ project groups of Kyung Hee University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Ajou University, and the Digital Empire II Council. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Park Ran-ja, Suwon City's Youth Policy Officer, said, “For the third meeting of the ‘Suwon Youth UP Cloud,’ we prepared an on-site hiring interview program to create an opportunity to substantively connect Suwon youth with companies,” adding, “We will do our best to support companies, young people, and universities so they can grow together through exchange and cooperation.”
