The Sukji Park water play area, which opened on the 2nd, is a dedicated water play facility constructed with 1.2 billion won in provincial funds. Built at the entrance of Sukji Park with an area of 2,583 square meters, it is equipped with various facilities including a water play area, ground fountains, foot bath, membrane structure pergola, rest deck, outdoor shower, and comprehensive play equipment.
During this inspection, the focus was on water safety, including daily complete replacement of tap water, water quality testing at least twice a month, and compliance with the Environment Ministry's guidelines for operating and managing water-based recreational facilities.
Currently, Sukji Park water play area operates daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with 40 minutes of operation followed by 20 minutes of rest. It is closed every Monday and during rainy weather for water tank cleaning and facility maintenance. Additionally, two safety staff members are stationed at all times to prepare for any potential safety accidents and guide citizens, including children, in conveniently using the facilities.
District Chief Lee Hoon-sung urged, "Please do your best to ensure safe management and operation so that citizens can visit the water play area during the hot summer and find some relief from the heat."
