Uiwang City Future Committee Holds 3rd Regular Meeting

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Hong Seong-gil] The 3rd regular meeting of the Uiwang City Future Committee (chaired by Uiwang Mayor Kim Sang-don) was held on the 9th in the large conference room at City Hall.

The Uiwang City Future Committee was launched on December 24 last year as a committee where citizens, civic groups, experts, and public officials gather to seek sustainable development directions for Uiwang City on major municipal issues of the 7th popularly elected term, and to create a new citizen-centered Uiwang through advice on various policies. It serves as a communication channel to reflect citizens' opinions.

At the meeting, the matters pursued by each subcommittee during the first half of 2019, such as measures to realize substantive resident autonomy and comprehensive measures to reduce fine dust, were explained, and an in-depth discussion was held on future directions.

Uiwang Mayor Kim Sang-don expressed his commitment, saying, “We will operate the Future Committee, formed for the future development of Uiwang City, in a substantial and practical manner so that it can take the lead in creating a 'new Uiwang in which citizens participate' as a focal point for citizen communication, and can pursue open administration that reflects citizens' opinions more broadly.”
