Suwon City Council Chairman Jo Myeong-ja Visits Traditional Market Ahead of Chuseok

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City Council Chairman Jo Myeong-ja visited Gwonseon Market in Gwonseon-gu on the 9th ahead of Chuseok to gauge local economic conditions and public sentiment.

Chairman Jo visited each shop one by one, purchased Chuseok items using the regional currency Suwon Pay, and listened to the difficulties faced by merchants.

Chairman Jo stated, "Despite difficult economic conditions, those of you who work steadfastly in the same place are the cornerstones leading the local economy."

He added, "Along with all city council members, I am encouraging the use of Suwon Pay. We are making efforts to revitalize local commercial districts such as traditional markets and alleyway shops, so please take heart."
