Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae Visits 'Yeoju Angels' Home' Ahead of Chuseok to Encourage Disabled Children and Staff

Gyeonggi Province Governor Choo Mi-ae visited 'Yeoju Angels' Home,' a residential facility for disabled children in Jeom-dong, Yeoju on the 17th ahead of Chuseok. She inspected the living environment and encouraged staff members who continue providing 24-hour care even during the holiday week.

Governor Choo met with Byeon Hyun-gu, the director of Yeoju Angels' Home, and staff members to hear about the challenges in facility operations and care delivery, and exchanged views on necessary support measures.

Governor Choo said, "I hope the children can live without isolation amid considerable social attention. I am grateful to the staff members who have been on the front lines for a long time caring for these children."

Governor Choo toured the children's rooms, living quarters, and treatment facilities to observe facility operations and the care environment. She spent time meeting directly with the children living at the facility and expressed her gratitude to the care workers.

Established in 1998, Yeoju Angels' Home is a residential facility for disabled children operated by the social welfare corporation 'Pentecost Village of Peace.' Currently, 61 people including infants and young children with severe disabilities such as cerebral palsy and autism are living there, and 55 staff members, including the director, provide 24-hour care services including residential support, education, and medical and rehabilitation services.
