[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-yeong] Suwon City will provide convenient administrative services to citizens based on information and communication technology (ICT), including a ‘Digital City Administration System’ and ‘Smart Integrated Parking Information.’

At the ‘Suwon City Informatization Master Plan Completion Report Meeting’ held at City Hall on the 26th, the city announced its mid- to long-term master plan (2020–2024). Nanum ICT Co., Ltd. was in charge of the project.

The ‘Suwon City Informatization Master Plan,’ whose vision is ‘People are welcome. Life is joyful. Suwon, a city where life is joyful!’, consists of four areas (LIFE)—▲Living City ▲Innovation Office ▲Feeling Community ▲Evolution Infra—and 13 detailed projects.

The city plans to build a ‘Digital City Administration System’ to establish policies and draw up business plans based on data. Through this system, information such as civil affairs, traffic, and major events will be disclosed in a customized manner on portal sites and elsewhere, and citizens’ requests will be provided to policymakers.

A ‘Smart Integrated Parking Information System’ will also be created. The city will establish an integrated monitoring system to efficiently manage and operate public parking lots, and provide parking lot information to citizens in real time.

An ‘Intelligent Water Management Smart Water Grid (Water Quality Management System)’ that can maintain and manage tap water quality will also be built. By attaching sensors that detect leaks and control pressure to drainage pipes, the city plans to carry out ‘real-time water quality monitoring and inquiry’ and ‘maintenance and management of tap water quality.’

The city also plans to pursue projects such as ▲expanding the construction of a self-communication network responding to environmental changes ▲a next-generation water and sewage fee management system ▲location-based customized information provision services ▲and expanding the construction of a Wi-Fi network to bridge the information gap.
