Suwon Agricultural Technology Center Holds Suwon Citizens Agricultural University Graduation Ceremony
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] The Suwon Agricultural Technology Center held the graduation ceremony for the '2019 Suwon Citizens Agricultural University' at the center's main auditorium in Gwonseon-gu on the 31st of last month.
At the graduation ceremony, 67 students (37 from the agricultural return course and 30 from the fermentation processing course) received diplomas.
The '2019 Suwon Citizens Agricultural University,' composed of two courses—agricultural return and fermentation processing—was operated from April to October every Thursday with theory, practical training, and field visits at the agricultural technology center and on farms.
The 67 graduates who received diplomas this day completed 80% or more of the total course hours among 73 enrolled students (91.7%), and 27 students received perfect attendance awards.
The Suwon Citizens Agricultural University, which began operations in 2015, was established to enhance agricultural competitiveness and cultivate agricultural talent. Including these 67 graduates, the program has produced a total of 392 graduates to date.
Choi Kwang-gyun, director of the city's Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We will provide more active support so that these individuals can become talents to lead Suwon's agriculture."
