Suwon Council for Good Governance Selects Seven Policy Adoption Tasks
[Suwon Ilbo=Correspondent Seo Dong-young] The Suwon Council for Good Governance (Chairman Yom Tae-young, Suwon Mayor) selected seven policy development tasks, including 'Policy Development Monitoring Through Analysis of Civil Petition Trends in the Fourth Industrial Era,' as adoption tasks at a '2019 Policy Development Report Meeting' held on the 6th in the conference room of the Suwon Convention Center.
The Council for Good Governance submitted eight tasks that underwent coordination by the Planning and Coordination Committee from among 16 policy development tasks proposed after five months of investigation and research by each committee to the meeting. The seven adoption tasks are scheduled to be promoted after establishing implementation plans. 'Mountain-Water-Flower Apprenticeship Education' was classified as a review task.
Adoption tasks refer to policy tasks that the Council for Good Governance determines are suitable as policy matters and that operational departments will adopt and implement. Review tasks are those that require additional research and review by the committee due to difficulties in applying them to municipal affairs.
The adoption tasks include ▲Policy Development Monitoring Through Analysis of Civil Petition Trends in the Fourth Industrial Era ▲Citizen-led Urban Forest Creation Promoting Citizen Love ▲Labor Policy Development to Improve Work-Life Balance for Small and Medium Enterprise Workers ▲Operation of Village Sharing Space Support Teams ▲Activation of Citizen Participation in Sustainable Private-led 'Car-Free Day Operation' ▲Suwon City Tourism Development Planning ▲Mandatory Gender Sensitivity Education for Appointment of Various Committees in Suwon City, and others.
Mayor Yom Tae-young stated, "Suwon's tax revenue is expected to decrease next year, which will likely make our financial situation difficult," and added, "I hope members of the Council for Good Governance will carefully review whether there are any wasteful budgets in our promised projects."
