Jangan-gu Completes Repairs on Daepyeong Pedestrian Overpass

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Jangan-gu, Suwon announced on the 12th that it has completed repairs on the Daepyeong pedestrian overpass that connects between Daepyeong Elementary and Middle School in Jeongja-dong and Jeongja Park.

Over approximately two weeks starting from the 14th of last month, wooden decking was installed on top of the deteriorated granite stairs of the Daepyeong pedestrian overpass. Elastic paving was reinstalled on the sloped sections that had drawn numerous complaints. Time and costs were reduced by constructing without demolishing the granite stairs.

An official from the district said, "The Daepyeong pedestrian overpass had deteriorated, with broken and fallen stairs that not only damaged the urban landscape but also posed safety hazards. With the completion of the repair work, a safe and pleasant pedestrian environment has been created, so residents will be able to use it without major inconvenience."
