Suwon City Holds 'Human Rights Cinema & Mini GV' Event for New Public Officials
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City held a 'Human Rights Cinema & Mini GV' event on the 23rd at Sunmaru in Suwon City Hall, targeting 60 newly appointed public officials to commemorate the 71st World Human Rights Day (December 10).
The city organized the event to raise awareness among public officials about the importance of human rights and to effectively enhance human rights sensitivity by utilizing film, a familiar medium.
The screened film 'Life Like an Animation' is a documentary featuring the true story of the protagonist who suffers from autism, containing content that allows viewers to reflect on advanced human rights systems and human rights consciousness.
After the film screening, a mini GV was held with Lee Joo-hyun, a reporter at Cine21, where a director or film-related professional discusses the film and engages in question-and-answer sessions with the audience.
An official from the city's Human Rights Division said, "We organized this event so that public officials can easily understand human rights through film, a familiar medium, and develop familiarity with human rights," and added, "We will continue to hold human rights-related events to raise interest in human rights and implement human rights-based administration."
