Hwaseong Special City Conducts Pre-Appointment Training for 332 New Civil Servants

Hwaseong Special City (Mayor Jung Myung-geun) is conducting '2026 Pre-Appointment Training for New Civil Servants' for 332 new civil servants.

The training is divided into two sessions. The first session was held from September 8-10, and the second session is scheduled for September 21-23 over three days.

This training is designed to help new civil servants understand municipal administration and organizational structure before appointment, and to acquire the basic competencies and practical skills necessary as civil servants.

The training curriculum includes △Communication with the Mayor △Understanding Hwaseong Special City's Vision and Key Policies △Information on Duties and Welfare Systems △Complaint Response and Office Etiquette △Writing Official Documents and Reports △Conversations with Senior Civil Servants, and more.

Particularly during the communication session with the mayor, Mayor Jung Myung-geun directly answered questions from new civil servants on site and generously shared experiences and advice gained from his long career in public service, creating a meaningful time of understanding. Additionally, during the conversation session with senior civil servants, experienced civil servants currently working in the field provided practical advice to their junior colleagues.

On the final day of training, a field study called 'Understanding Hwaseong' was conducted, where new civil servants visited major attractions in Hwaseong Special City including Yungnyeongneung, the Jeam-ri Independence Movement Memorial Hall, and the Korean Native Plants Garden, allowing them to understand Hwaseong's history and culture and directly experience key tourist destinations.

Mayor Jung Myung-geun of Hwaseong Special City stated, "The most important thing for new civil servants taking their first steps in public service is to think from the citizens' perspective and listen to their voices," adding "I hope that beginning with this training, you will grow into civil servants who deliberate together with citizens at the field level and create changes that citizens can feel."
