Suwon and KT Conclude "Smart Tourism Activation Business Agreement"
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Joint research to implement a "smart tourism city" centered around Gwanggyo Lake Park in Suwon is being promoted.
Suwon City and KT concluded the "Suwon City-KT Smart Tourism Activation Business Agreement" on the 26th at the VIP Dining Room of Suwon Convention Center.
The agreement ceremony was attended by Cho Cheong-sik, First Vice Mayor, Choi Chul, Head of KT's Gyeonggi Business Division, and other key officials from both organizations.
Under the agreement, both organizations will actively cooperate on ▲mutual exchange and cooperation for the development of ICT (Information and Communication Technology)-based tourism services in Suwon ▲joint research on analysis of Suwon's smart tourism status ▲derivation of smart tourism activation measures and tourism policy consulting for Suwon.
Suwon City and KT will conduct "joint research on smart tourism activation measures" focused on Gwanggyo Lake Park and Suwon Convention Center from January to February.
The city plans to investigate Suwon's tourism status through surveys and interviews, analyze various big data including floating population characteristics (age, gender, consumption patterns, movement routes), derive differentiated smart tourism activation measures, and reflect them in tourism policies.
Additionally, the city plans to discover smart tourism items applicable to the city and discover and promote continuous joint cooperation projects.
First Vice Mayor Cho Cheong-sik stated, "The Suwon Convention Center area, where the Asia-Pacific Environment Ministers Forum will be held in September next year, and the Gwanggyo Lake Park area, where a complex facility is being built, are regions experiencing rapidly increasing popularity among tourists. Through this agreement, we will be able to establish Suwon's differentiated smart tourism policies based on analysis of the latest trends."
