Cambodian Exchange Delegation Holds Meeting with Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-seon
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] A Cambodian exchange delegation visited Pyeongtaek City Hall on the 21st to hold talks with Mayor Jung Jang-seon to discuss mutual cooperation and exchange.
The delegation consisted of seven members, led by H.E. Nak Sokha, Vice Secretary of Cambodia's State Secretary of Civil Aviation (SSCA). The Cambodian Civil Aviation Authority is the comprehensive department responsible for operating Cambodia's airports.
This visit is the result of the city's preliminary visit to Cambodia last year to investigate the possibility of exchange with Cambodian ports. The city visited to discuss ways to expand logistics trade with Cambodian ports and to engage in direct exchange consultations.
The delegation exchanged views on opening a shipping route connecting Pyeongtaek Port and Phnom Penh Port.
Additionally, in cooperation with the Korea-Cambodia Economic Council, both sides expressed hope for economic exchange and cooperation between South Korea and Cambodia and mutually friendly international exchange relations.
Mayor Jung Jang-seon stated, "We discussed ways to share administrative expertise regarding Pyeongtaek's port operations with Cambodia. The two sides agreed to mutually consult on cooperation measures in various exchange fields including economic exchange, identify areas where cooperation is possible, and gradually pursue friendly exchange relations."
