Jangan-gu Steps Up Disinfection Efforts to Prevent Virus Spread
[Suwon Ilbo = Reporter Seo Dong-young] Jangan-gu announced on the 11th that it is making all-out efforts in disinfection to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the area.
The district disinfected bus stops and other locations on the 10th. Six staff members and one disinfection vehicle conducted sterilization and disinfection work on bus stops in the Suwon Sports Complex area through Route 1 National Highway passing Jangan-gu Government Complex intersection to the Jeongja-dong and Cheoncheon-dong areas, as well as surrounding roads and stops.
From the 6th to the 10th, in cooperation with the Jangan-gu Health Center, the district disinfected the indoor and outdoor areas of 197 childcare facilities within the jurisdiction. In addition, it advised childcare staff and young children to wear masks when commuting to and attending childcare facilities during classes, and urged thorough hand disinfection, avoidance of outdoor events, and self-disinfection of childcare facilities at least once daily.
Furthermore, the district has conducted self-disinfection on the district government office, each administrative offices, and public facilities since last week, while encouraging disinfection of crowded gathering places such as traditional markets and public housing.
Jangan-gu District Chief Lee Byung-gyou stated, "We will do our best to create a safe environment from the spread of viral infections through periodic disinfection implementation and promotion of self-disinfection," and urged, "We ask residents to work together to create a clean environment through thorough personal hygiene management and cleanliness habits in daily life."
