Youngtong-gu Produces and Distributes Garbage Disposal Guidelines Promotional Materials
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Youngtong-gu, Suwon City, has produced four types of 'garbage disposal guidelines promotional materials' (40,000 copies) to establish a culture of proper waste disposal, and plans to distribute them starting from the 25th.
These are customized promotional materials tailored to different sectors including apartments, restaurants, and convenience stores. They cover ▲proper garbage disposal guidelines for apartments and residential areas ▲food waste disposal guidelines ▲convenience store waste sorting guidelines ▲paper product recycling guidelines. The materials also reflect the revised Suwon City Waste Management Ordinance, providing guidance on garbage disposal and box and cardboard disposal guidelines for the period after 8 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following day.
The district plans to have unauthorized dumping enforcement officers directly visit apartment management offices, convenience stores, and restaurants to distribute the materials. Additionally, environmental management staff in each neighborhood will focus on promoting proper paper waste disposal guidelines, including waybill and sticker removal from boxes and cardboard, targeting commercial areas that illegally dispose of boxes and cardboard during street cleaning activities.
Furthermore, for 'restaurants with a floor area of 200 square meters or less,' the district plans to distribute food waste sorting guidelines promotional materials through the Korea Restaurant Association Suwon Youngtong-gu Branch. Youngtong-gu Office Chief Song Young-wan stated, "Proper waste sorting of recyclable resources is impossible without active cooperation from citizens. The district will also promote waste sorting through various channels. We hope that residents will actively participate based on mature civic consciousness."
