Suwon City Provides Special Consolation Grants to Businesses Impacted by Contact Tracing Disclosure
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City will provide special consolation grants to small business owners impacted by COVID-19. These are businesses that were visited by confirmed COVID-19 patients before they received their positive diagnosis and were included in the publicized "confirmed case routes."
The Korea Keumdonf Broadcasting Corporation (100 million won) and the New Gyeonggi Sports Central Association (10 million won) donated a total of 110 million won to the city on the 10th, stating "Please use this to help small business owners and vulnerable populations facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 crisis." The consolation grant support will continue until the donated funds are exhausted.
First, the city will provide 1 million won each to 33 out of 35 businesses that closed due to confirmed patient visits and were included in the publicized contact routes on the 25th, totaling 33 million won in support.
The city will contact businesses disclosed in the "confirmed case routes" to inform them of the support, and when businesses apply, the Suwon City Council on Social Welfare will distribute the support funds.
Suwon Mayor Yeom Tae-young stated, "Businesses visited by confirmed patients have been thoroughly disinfected and sanitized by the city, making them safer than anywhere else," and urged, "Let us support small business owners who have suffered unexpected damages so they can overcome their difficulties together."
For inquiries about support, contact the city's Regional Economy Division (031-228-2269, 2678) or the Welfare Cooperation Division (031-228-2488, 3223)
