Osan City Increases Local Currency 'Osaek-jeon' Issuance Scale to 20 Billion Won

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City announced on the 26th that it will increase the issuance scale of 'Osaek-jeon' local currency from 12 billion won to 20 billion won to help recover the regional economy that has been weakened by the COVID-19 crisis.

During April, citizens who newly sign up for the Osaek-jeon local currency and charge 50,000 won or more will receive 50,000 won in local currency through a raffle. Existing subscribers who use 100,000 won or more will also receive 50,000 won in local currency through a raffle.

Additionally, the city will select the customer with the highest charge amount and award 50,000 won in local currency, and select the customer with the highest usage amount and award 100,000 won in local currency.

Mayor Gwak Sang-wook said, "I hope this becomes an opportunity to promote consumption within the region and revitalize the local economy and inject vitality into small business owners and microenterprises that have been affected by COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to focus on discovering more diverse policies."

Osan's local currency Osaek-jeon can be issued through the Gyeonggi Local Currency app or at 21 locations in Osan, including NH Nonghyup Bank, local agricultural cooperatives, Saemaul savings banks, and Saeos-an Credit Union.
