Democratic Council for Reunification Pyeongtaek Branch Donates 5 Million Won to Pyeongtaek City for COVID-19 Relief
[Suwon Daily=Reporter Seo Dong-young] The Pyeongtaek Branch of the Democratic Council for Reunification presented 5 million won to Pyeongtaek City on March 31st to help overcome COVID-19 in the Pyeongtaek region.
The Pyeongtaek Branch of the Democratic Council for Reunification serves as an advisory body regarding the establishment of peaceful reunification policy and plays a central role in advancing reunification through various projects, including gathering domestic and international opinion on reunification, building national consensus, and mobilizing civic engagement.
Lee Bong-hee, chairperson of the Pyeongtaek Branch, stated, "Pyeongtaek City's proactive response to COVID-19 surpassed that of other local governments, allowing residents to live with peace of mind. We deeply appreciate all the officials who have worked hard, and council members also decided to participate in a donation relay to help in overcoming COVID-19."
Mayor Jeong Jang-seon responded, "I am very grateful that the Democratic Council for Reunification, which takes interest in our community and provides substantial support both materially and morally, has pooled its efforts to help overcome COVID-19."
