[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City conducted joint public-private safety inspections at large-scale construction sites from the 1st to 24th of last month.
The inspections were aimed at preventing safety accidents that can occur during the thawing season and preventing the spread of COVID-19. A joint inspection team composed of relevant experts and civil servants examined large construction sites and other facilities.
Among 20 construction sites with a total floor area of 1,000 square meters or more in the city, one site undergoing excavation work was inspected for original ground conditions, construction appropriateness, and ground subsidence. Minor issues were immediately addressed on-site.
In addition, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, 13 on-site supervision construction sites were inspected with a focus on the availability of disinfectants and other hygiene products, the status of foreign workers, and the cleanliness and disinfection conditions of workplaces (offices, rest areas, etc.).
A city official stated, "We plan to prevent safety accidents in advance through continuous management of matters pointed out in this on-site inspection," adding, "We will do our best to prevent construction site safety accidents and prevent the spread of COVID-19."
