Yongin West Fire Station Conducts Safety Inspections at Shopping Malls and Transit Stations Ahead of Chuseok Holiday

Yongin West Fire Station (Fire Chief Oh Eun-seok) announced that it conducted on-site safety inspections at Lotte Mall Suji and around Seongbok Station on the 10th to prevent fires at multi-use facilities and prevent safety accidents ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

The on-site safety inspection was arranged to examine fire vulnerabilities in advance at Seongbok Station and Lotte Mall, where an increase in visitors is expected ahead of the Chuseok holiday, and to strengthen the safety management capabilities of relevant personnel.

On the day, the fire station heard about major facility conditions from related personnel and focused on △confirming evacuation environments at multi-use facilities such as Lotte Cinema △securing evacuation routes for users △maintaining evacuation and fire prevention facilities △confirming initial response systems centered on the emergency control room.

Large-scale retail facilities are characterized by many users staying simultaneously and complex internal structures, making rapid evacuation and quick initial response crucial in case of fire. Accordingly, thorough safety management is necessary, including securing evacuation routes at all times and maintaining response systems among personnel.

Fire Chief Oh Eun-seok said, "During the Chuseok holiday, as the number of users at retail facilities and public transportation increases, more meticulous fire safety management is needed than usual," and urged, "We ask relevant personnel to do their utmost in managing evacuation and fire prevention facilities and in initial response in case of fire so that citizens can use the facilities safely."
