Pyeongtaek Expands Support for Air Pollution Prevention Facilities at Small Businesses

[Suwon Ilbo=Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 28th that it will proceed with the second round of support projects for air pollution prevention facilities at small businesses to reduce fine dust emissions from air-emitting facilities within the city.

The project aims to support the improvement and installation costs of aged air pollution prevention facilities to ease the financial burden of installing prevention facilities due to strengthened emission standards and reduce fine dust generation.

Eligible applicants are medium and small enterprises under the 'Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises' operating air-emitting facilities within the city, with aged prevention facilities already installed.

The city received first-round applications in February. In this second round, the scope of eligible facilities has been expanded from existing Categories 4 and 5 air-emitting facilities to Categories 1 through 5. The city plans to increase the support quantity to connect up to two exhaust outlets per business establishment.

Subsidies of up to 270 million won (450 million won for RTO and RCO facilities, etc.) depending on the capacity of the air pollution prevention facility will be provided. The subsidy cost-sharing ratio is 50% national funding, 20% provincial funding, 20% municipal funding, and 10% self-funded contribution, significantly reducing the burden on businesses. The total budget for both rounds is 5.6 billion won.

The application deadline is May 4. Applications must be submitted by mail or in-person to the Gyeonggi Province Environmental Conservation Association according to the application forms published in the official notice. Following screening through on-site inspections and review committee deliberation, support will be provided according to priority order.
