Suwon Develops New Pay-as-You-Throw Bag Design to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City announced on the 6th that it is currently developing a new design for greenhouse gas pay-as-you-throw bags.
The initiative aims to practically improve the pay-as-you-throw bag design so that all citizens, including foreigners, can easily understand proper waste sorting and disposal methods.
The target covers three types of waste pay-as-you-throw bags (incineration, food waste, and reusable) and one type of public use bag.
A practical design that directly provides information on waste sorting and disposal methods is planned for development. The design will utilize multilingual labeling and pictograms (simple graphic symbols that represent objects, facilities, and actions).
Yoon Ho-seop, Professor Emeritus at Kookmin University's Department of Visual Design and known as Korea's first 'Green Designer' (environmental activist), participated in the design development.
