Professor Kim Young-hwan of Cheongju University Appointed as Overall Coordinator for Pyeongtaek City Urban Regeneration New Deal Project
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 12th that it has appointed Professor Kim Young-hwan of Cheongju University as the overall coordinator for the city's Urban Regeneration New Deal Project.
Professor Kim Young-hwan is a faculty member in the Department of Human Environment Design at Cheongju University and currently serves as president of the Korean Urban Design Society.
He is an expert with both practical experience and theoretical knowledge, possessing extensive knowledge and project experience in urban regeneration projects. Going forward, he is expected to serve in an advisory and support capacity for urban regeneration new deal projects promoted by the city.
Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-seon requested of Professor Kim to "actively cooperate so that Pyeongtaek-style urban regeneration new deal projects can proceed smoothly by injecting new vitality through balanced development of the declining original downtown area and improving the quality of life of residents."
Meanwhile, among the city's seven urban regeneration activation areas, three areas (Anjung, Shinpyeong, and Sinjang) have been selected for urban regeneration activation projects, and Seojeong is currently carrying out the New Village Project.
