Songtan Branch Office of Pyeongtaek City Holds Friendly Exchange Meeting with U.S. Air Force
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] The Songtan Branch Office of Pyeongtaek City held a friendly exchange meeting on the 5th with U.S. Air Force command including Colonel John Gonzales, commander of the U.S. 51st Fighter Wing, to promote mutual cooperation.
The meeting discussed management of U.S. military personnel residing off-base, cooperation in medical services, and collaborative measures regarding various incidents and accidents to maintain a close system in relation to COVID-19. The participants also explored ways to promote regional economic development.
Commander Gonzales stated, "Just as we have developed mutually beneficial measures while responding to COVID-19, we will continue to build cooperative systems across various fields. We also hope to maintain genuine friendly cooperation through diverse exchanges and cultural sharing."
Jeong Seung-chae, director of the Songtan Branch Office, said, "COVID-19 has been an opportunity to recognize how precious mutual cooperation systems are and to strengthen friendly relations even more," and added, "We will continue to make multifaceted efforts to ensure the stable settlement of the U.S. Forces Korea."
