Suwon Provides Thermal Imaging Cameras to Elementary, Middle, and High Schools
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Suwon City announced on the 12th that it will provide one thermal imaging camera capable of measuring body temperature to 42 elementary, middle, and high schools and Suwon First Lifelong Learning School.
The thermal imaging cameras will be installed at the entrances of each school building by the 23rd. Once installation is completed, all elementary, middle, and high schools (199 schools) and special and lifelong learning schools (4 schools) in Suwon City will operate the thermal imaging cameras.
The infrared thermal imaging camera provided by the city is an "all-in-one" model with easy operation. Body temperature can be confirmed immediately after facial recognition. It also has alarm functions for fever and mask-wearing status. It is easier to operate than separate-type cameras and can be operated with minimal staff.
The city has been providing COVID-19 response support to schools to ensure students can receive education safely.
On April 10th ahead of online classes, the city provided 200 tablet PCs to the Suwon Office of Education to help students without smart devices participate in "online classes."
Prior to the start of school, the city also delivered 328,406 masks to students at elementary, middle, and high schools and special and lifelong learning schools for use by returning students.
When a suspected patient is identified at a school, suspected patients are quickly transported and school premises are disinfected in accordance with the Ministry of Education's "Manual for Student Communicable Disease Prevention and Crisis Response" and the "Joint Response Agreement for COVID-19 Response During School In-Person Classes" signed in May by Suwon City, Suwon Office of Education, Suwon Fire Department, and Suwon Southern Fire Department.
Meanwhile, Suwon First Lifelong Learning School is an institution that provides literacy education, GED preparation courses, alternative education for out-of-school youth, and education for multicultural residents.
