[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] As the COVID-19 crisis continues, donations from companies and organizations have been flowing into Suwon City, demonstrating the true character of the city as a place where people comfort one another.

Distribution company ㈜Inpeople visited Suwon Mayor Yum Tae-young on the 2nd and donated 30,000 Thai-style frozen fried rice bowls worth 44 million won.

㈜Inpeople, a distributor operated by a businessperson from Suwon, donated 750 boxes of frozen fried rice, with 40 bowls packaged per box, expressing hopes that it would help Suwon citizens facing economic hardship.

The city plans to distribute the donated frozen fried rice to 109 locations including food banks, children's centers, child care facilities, group homes for children, disability care facilities, group homes for people with disabilities, and senior citizen restaurants in the Suwon area.

An official from Inpeople said, "We believe that sharing for the public good is natural when conducting business," and added, "We hope Suwon citizens will enjoy the meal and gain strength to overcome COVID-19."

The Suwon Eco-friendly Farmers Association also donated 184 boxes (70 each) of eco-friendly agricultural product beverages worth 8 million won on the same day.

The eco-friendly processed beverages made from apples and pears, donated with support from Gyeonggi Agro-Food Distribution Promotion Agency and ㈔Gyeonggi Province Eco-friendly Farmers Association, were originally manufactured for school meals but faced reduced distribution channels due to COVID-19.

In response, the Suwon Eco-friendly Farmers Association donated 30 boxes of processed beverages to each of five food banks in the Suwon area and placed 34 boxes in 11 shared refrigerators installed at the Suwon Local Food Direct Sales Store to help residents quench their thirst.

Some organizations have focused on sharing snacks for medical staff at Suwon Hospital who are dedicating themselves to fighting COVID-19.

The Suwon City Branch of the Gyeonggi Province Women's Organizations Council visited Suwon Hostel, which serves as lodging for Suwon Hospital medical staff, daily from the 22nd to the 30th at 5 p.m. and provided various snacks and supplies.

Coinciding with the completion of the lodging accommodation, the Suwon City Branch provided not only food items such as cup noodles, pastries, cupcakes, and coffee, but also items like facial masks, ensuring the medical staff had time to relax and recuperate.

The Paldalgu One-Heart Volunteer Group, affiliated with the Suwon Volunteer Center, also made 100 lunch boxes on the 29th and delivered them to medical staff and elderly residents living alone in the area, conveying gratitude and resolve to overcome the crisis.

The Paldalgu One-Heart Volunteer Group purchased ingredients using the budget from the 'Volunteer Support Project by Residents' and carefully prepared homemade side dishes to make loving lunch boxes, providing 60 boxes to medical staff and 40 boxes to elderly residents living alone in Hwaseo 2-dong as a delicious meal.
