Pyeongtaek City Assesses and Notifies July Regular Property Tax
[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 5th that it has assessed and notified property taxes of 49.49 billion won on 244,398 cases for the July regular installment (residential properties 1st installment and building properties).
Property taxes are assessed to owners of residential properties and buildings as of June 1st, the assessment standard date. Notices will be sent by mail starting on the 10th of this month, and those who have applied for electronic notification can check via email or mobile app.
In July, building property taxes and residential property 1st installment taxes (50%) are assessed, and in September, land property taxes and residential property 2nd installment taxes (remaining 50%) are assessed respectively. However, if the assessed amount (based on base tax) of residential property tax is 100,000 won or less, it is assessed all at once in July.
Payment methods include direct payment at all banks and post offices nationwide, or various payment convenience systems such as credit card payment through Pyeongtaek City ARS (1899-0076), virtual accounts, Wetax, and internet transfer.
Starting this year, a new method has been added where property taxes can be paid without transfer fees by selecting 'Local Tax Revenue' as the receiving bank when making account transfers and entering the local tax revenue account number (electronic payment number) in the account number field.
A city official said, "Property tax is a valuable source of funding used for revitalizing the local economy and promoting citizen welfare," and urged, "Please pay by the 31st of this month to avoid the disadvantage of a 3% surcharge if you miss the payment deadline."
