[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] The Urban Regeneration Support Center near Gyeonggi Provincial Government, under the Suwon Sustainable City Foundation, and Nammun Rodeo Market have joined forces to promote local economy and shared economy activation on Nammun Rodeo Street.

The Urban Regeneration Support Center near Gyeonggi Provincial Government and Nammun Rodeo Market signed a 'Mutual Growth Agreement for Local Economy and Shared Economy Activation' on the morning of the 8th, with Center Director Kim Tae-in and Merchants Association Chairwoman Cheon Young-sook in attendance.

The agreement was prepared to activate the community of merchants operating on Nammun Rodeo Street, which is located within the urban regeneration project zone, monitor street environment conditions, and vitalize commercial districts and the shared economy.

Under the agreement, both parties will explore ways to utilize vacant storefronts on Rodeo Street as shared spaces and neighborhood community centers, and seek cultural and artistic event plans that reflect the characteristics of urban regeneration projects linked to local festivals.

In particular, to prevent gentrification in advance after commercial district activation, both parties will jointly explore mutual growth agreement methods between tenants and landlords.

Additionally, to activate the shared economy and implement Suwon City's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, they agreed to cooperate on shared refrigerators, zero-plastic movements, and use of eco-friendly products.

Kim Tae-in, Director of the Urban Regeneration On-site Support Center, stated, "This mutual growth agreement will be of great help in supporting merchant activities and merchant community activation on Nammun Rodeo Street within the urban regeneration project zone, and in composing sustainable programs for citizens through exchanges with local residents."

Merchants Association Chairwoman Cheon Young-sook responded, "We will discuss mutual growth methods such as the utilization of vacant spaces within the market going forward, and actively cooperate in activating local economy and shared economy as well as urban regeneration projects."
