Suwon's Ilwol and Yeonghung Arboretum to Operate October 'Night-Light Garden'

Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) will operate the '2026 Suwon Arboretum Autumn Night-Light Garden' at Ilwol and Yeonghung Arboretums every Friday and Saturday from October 2 to 31.

During the Night-Light Garden period, theme gardens and greenhouses will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Last admission is at 8:30 p.m. The visitor center operates from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Theme gardens decorated with autumn flowers welcome visitors. Ilwol Arboretum decorates display gardens and surrounding spaces with pink-toned flowers including garden mums, asters, and pink muhly. Visitors can enjoy the autumn atmosphere in the grass garden where approximately 130 species of plants including Korean feather reed grass, Japanese silver grass, and pampas grass blend together.

Yeonghung Arboretum will create a '"Pink, Meet Me" photo zone decorated with gaura, asters, Korean chrysanthemum, and Aster koraiensis. It will also showcase a seasonal flower garden featuring pink pampas grass and miscanthus, as well as a rice paddy garden where visitors can appreciate golden rice ears.

Exhibitions will also be held. At Ilwol Arboretum's exhibition greenhouse, 'The Girl Born from Flowers, Thumbelina' will be on display, while Yeonghung Arboretum's exhibition greenhouse will feature 'Hansel and Gretel: Forest of Temptation.' The visitor center will operate exhibitions titled 'The Village of Suwon Made by Trees' and 'The Fragrance of Suwon,' respectively.

Special evening programs include △night-light garden walks △making my glowing potted plants at night (Night-Light Shine) △making pressed flower mulberry paper lanterns. A resident participation performance 'Suwon Arboretum, Beautiful Harmony' will also be held, featuring 11 teams including children's art groups, orchestras, and acoustic guitar and saxophone performance ensembles, with approximately 100 participants.

An autumn flower festival will be held at Ilwol Arboretum on October 24 in connection with evening operations.

An official from the Suwon City Park and Green Space Project Office stated, "We have prepared diverse programs including autumn flowers such as pink muhly, asters, and cosmos, as well as resident participation performances and night walks," and added, "We hope visitors will enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery where light and nature harmonize at Suwon Arboretum on a cool autumn evening and create cherished memories."
