Osan City Conducts Guidance Inspections on Indoor Air Quality at Multi-Use Facilities

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] Osan City is conducting guidance inspections on indoor air quality at 105 multi-use facilities from the 10th of this month through September 30.

Following amendments to the Environmental Health Act, the city is placing particular focus on approximately 25 newly designated kid cafes and multi-use facilities constructed within the past two years.

During this guidance inspection, the city plans to focus on checking ▲whether indoor air quality-related education has been completed ▲whether self-measurement of pollution levels is conducted and records are maintained ▲management status of air purification and ventilation equipment.

Additionally, the city will impose administrative fines of up to 2 million won for violations such as failure to conduct self-measurement and maintain measurement result records, or failure to complete relevant training.

Shim Heung-seon, Director of the Environmental Division of Osan City, stated, "In addition to inspections at multi-use facilities, we are conducting free indoor air quality measurements and consulting at 170 sub-regulated facilities such as childcare centers used by children and elderly people," and added, "At a time when the importance of indoor environmental management is being emphasized due to COVID-19, we will do our utmost to ensure that citizens can use multi-use facilities with confidence."
