Suwon Hosts Online Public Hearing on Comprehensive Fine Dust Management Plan

[Suwon Ilbo=Reporter Seo Dong-young] An online public hearing will be held to establish the 'Suwon Comprehensive Fine Dust Management Plan (2021-2025)'.

The public hearing, scheduled for 2 p.m. on the 10th, will be conducted live on Suwon's official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/suwonloves) to gather opinions from citizens and experts.

The event will feature a presentation of the main content (projects) of the 'Suwon Comprehensive Fine Dust Management Plan' by Kang Eun-ha, chief researcher at the Suwon Institute of Urban Research, and a panel discussion with experts in the fine dust field.

Chief Researcher Kang Eun-ha plans to present major projects for efficient fine dust management, including the establishment of hydrogen vehicle supply infrastructure, support and management of small and medium-sized air emission businesses, and strengthened fine dust management around facilities used by vulnerable populations.

The panel discussion, chaired by Professor Jang Young-ki of the Department of Environmental and Energy Engineering at Suwon University, will feature diverse discussions by sector including ▲establishing policy foundations ▲emission reduction management ▲citizen health protection ▲publicity and education for fine dust reduction and damage prevention.

Panel members include Kim Mi-kyung, member of the Suwon City Council's Urban Environment Committee; Kang Gun-gu, director of the Suwon City Environmental Division; Jeong Hae-gwan, professor in the Department of Medicine at Sungkyunkwan University; and Hong Eun-hwa, secretary-general of the Suwon Environmental Movement Center.

Citizens can freely express their opinions in real time through YouTube comments. After the public hearing, opinions can also be submitted via email (hiyong86@korea.kr) or fax (031-228-2847) by the 13th.

A Suwon City official said, "We will actively reflect the opinions from the public hearing to create effective policies," and "We ask citizens to present diverse opinions through the online public hearing."
